An accomplished provider of veterinary treatment to small companion animals, Dr. Todd L. Prince leverages his 25 years of animal care experience to promote the health of his patients. Before entering practice, Dr. Todd Prince achieved his doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) at the University of Illinois. To become a veterinarian, people must first undergo a rigorous training process not unlike that of a physician. Far from a monolithic profession, veterinary medicine differs in terms of focus. For example, some veterinarians may choose to dedicate themselves to the care of small domestic animals, while others may elect to work on goals like drug research. After prospective veterinarians secure their undergraduate degrees, the next step is to build on their pre-veterinary education by enrolling at a veterinary school, which furnishes an additional four years of training. That training culminates in the DVM degree. Some veterinarians may even pursue internships or residencies to become board certified specialists in a sub-field related to animal care or scientific research. Comments are closed.
